SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- There will be lane closures planned for Interstate 81 in Syracuse.

The New York State Department of Transportation wants you to know that Interstate 81 southbound will be reduced to one lane between Exit 18 (Adams Street/Harrison Street) and Exit 17 (S Salina Street/Brighton Avenue) in the City of Syracuse, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, to facilitate utility work, as part of the I-81 Viaduct Project.

Drivers are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Receiving two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of your driver's license.
