GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Triad mother of three says her life has completely changed after receiving a car through the Wheels4Hope program — a nonprofit that provides reliable vehicles to people working toward self-sufficiency through its partner agencies.
Before getting her car in October, Nyaria Alston says her mornings started before sunrise.
“I would get up at 5:30 in the morning, get my kids ready, and then we’d walk up the street and take multiple buses to get them to two different centers before I could even go to work,” she said.
Now, Alston — who affectionately named her blue car “Stitch” — says the difference has been life-changing.
“Having Stitch has been really life-changing because we don’t have to get up as early, so their mood is a lot better,” she said. “I’m able to rest,
