LANCASTER COUNTY, Neb. —
A Lincoln man accused in a crash that killed a police officer in Nebraska last year has changed his plea.
Tony Pierce pleaded no contest to felony motor vehicle homicide for his role in the crash that killed Ceresco police officer Ross Bartlett in April 2024. He was found guilty, court documents state.

Bartlett's patrol vehicle was hit during a traffic stop on Highway 77 near Ceresco in Lancaster County, authorities said. He was in the vehicle when it was hit by a truck driven by Pierce.
The 54-year-old man died from injuries suffered in the crash.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 8. Pierce could spend up to three years in prison.
