INDIANA — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is inviting Hoosiers to celebrate the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 28th, by getting outdoors.
DNR properties that typically charge an entrance fee will offer free admission all day to individuals, families, and friends seeking to “opt outside” rather than shop.
The free admission encourages residents to explore Indiana’s natural beauty, whether for a solo adventure or an outing with loved ones.
Participants are encouraged to share their outdoor experiences on social media using the hashtag #OptOutsideIN2025 for a chance to win prizes. Alternatively, they can participate in a scavenger hunt to be eligible for giveaways. Full details on prize eligibility and the scavenger hunt can be found online .
