A coastal flood statement was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 2:41 p.m. valid for Thursday between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. for Manhattan, Staten Island and Brooklyn.

The weather service adds, "Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."

"Brief minor flooding of the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline," says the weather service. "Do not drive through flooded roadways."
