Former NBA player and Duke basketball great Kyle Singler was charged with one misdemeanor count of assault and battery in the presence of a child on Tuesday, October 28, after he allegedly grabbed his girlfriend’s head and shoved her to the ground.

Singler, 37, was arrested on Thursday, October 23 after a 911 caller reported that Singler was chasing a woman outside a Whitefield, Oklahoma residence. (The former NBA player spent the final four seasons of his seven-year pro career with the Oklahoma City Thunder.)

He was booked into the Haskell County Jail and later released on $6,000 bond, according to the Associated Press.

“It looked like he palmed her face like he would a basketball and pushed her down, is what she had said,” Mitch Dobbs of the Haskell County Sheriff’s Office told KWTV.
