Law enforcement officials in Berkeley and Dorchester counties arrested two separate sets of parents this week after uncovering evidence they believe indicated child abuse in the harm suffered by their toddlers in unrelated incidents.
Both sets of parents remain in jail. In Berkeley County, Bryan Edward Connolly, 41, and Ashley Marie Romashko, 35, were denied bond after each was charged with the unlawful neglect of their 2-year-old child.
In Dorchester County, Christopher Leon Grimes, 36, and Brittany Marie Hatcher, 29, both face one count of unlawful conduct and two counts of inflicting great bodily injury on their 1-year-old child.

The first incident occurred at a residence in Moncks Corner on Oct. 26.
