2DC man arrested after morning shooting leaves one injured on Ayers Place
Washington, DC – A 61-year-old Southeast DC man is in custody after a gunshot rang out Monday morning on Ayers Place, sending another man to the hospital and prompting a swift police response that led to an arrest and the seizure of a loaded firearm.
The shooting occurred just before 8 a.m. in the 4900 block of Ayers Place Southeast, when Sixth District officers were called to the scene for reports of gunfire. They arrived to find an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound, conscious and breathing. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
