A major train accident occurred on the Rourkela–Ranchi main railway line after a goods train derailed between Bano and Kanarwa stations on Wednesday evening.

According to reports, over ten wagons of the train jumped off the tracks and overturned, leaving the area scattered with mangled coaches.

Following the derailment, train movement on the busy Rourkela–Ranchi route has been severely disrupted. Railway officials rushed to the site to assess the situation and begin restoration work.

The cause of the derailment was yet to be ascertained, and efforts were underway to clear the damaged wagons and restore normal traffic at the earliest. No casualties were reported, but detailed information was still awaited.
