CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland Orchestra is blending film and live music next summer with two blockbuster movie concerts.
First up, “Matilda in Concert” takes the stage at Severance Music Center on Wednesday, June 3, and Friday, June 5, 2026. The event will be hosted and narrated by actor-director Danny DeVito, who brought the beloved 1996 film to life. DeVito joins The Cleveland Orchestra as conductor David Newman leads the ensemble through his whimsical score while the movie plays on the big screen.
Based on Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book, “Matilda” follows a brilliant young girl who discovers that a bit of imagination—and a touch of magic—can change the world.
