On Wednesday at 2:41 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a coastal flood advisory valid for Thursday between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. for Suffolk County.
"One to locally two feet of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline," describes the weather service. "Locally moderate coastal flooding is possible across the western Great South Bay during Thursday evening high tide. There is also potential of minor coastal flooding during high tide on Friday morning high tide."
