Howie Roseman continued working on the cornerback spot Wednesday by acquiring five-year veteran slot corner Michael Carter from the Jets, a league source confirmed. The deal was first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Eagles shipped rarely used wide receiver and special teamer John Metchie and a 2027 6th-round pick to the Jets for Carter and a 2027 7th-round pick.

Carter, 26, was the Jets’ 5th-round pick out of Duke in 2021. The Jets’ GM at the time was Joe Douglas, who is now back in the Eagles’ front office. Carter has played 65 games with 25 starts in five seasons with the Jets, with virtually all his snaps coming in the slot.
