The Wetaskiwin Longhorns showed no mercy as they trampled the Morinville Kings in their house Saturday night.

The first place Longhorns took the last place Kings 17-1 in a lopsided affair at the Morinville Leisure Centre with Quentin Greenwood scoring four and Coy Provost notching a hat trick.

Jake Mykitiuk scored a pair to open the game that was all Longhorns until the third period when the Kings finally got one past goalie Connor Dobberthien.

RJ Reed added a pair himself as did Shaquille Houle with Nikita Kovalenko, Kona Jackson, Dayton Murray and Zane Jones rounding out the scoring.

The Longhorns are leading in the NCHL standings with four games and four wins under the belts, followed by the Camrose Bruins who are currently 3-0. The Lacombe Generals round out the top three at 3-1.
