JAMMU, Oct 29: The government of Jammu and Kashmir has installed 22 Automatic Water Level Sensors at key locations along the River Jhelum and its tributaries to monitor and mitigate flash floods in the Union Territory. The data from these sensors is available in real time on the ‘ Kashmir Flood Watch’ website and mobile applications.
This was disclosed in the Legislative Assembly in response to a question by BJP MLA Narinder Singh Raina.
In addition to the sensors, the government is implementing multiple structural and non-structural measures through departments such as DMRRR, District Administration, and I&FC to strengthen infrastructure and enhance early warning systems in Jammu province.
