When it comes to major controversies and such, One Piece has been able to get by unscathed for the last two decades, at least for the most part. That said, one issue has continued to plague the anime ever since the time skip, and it just got a whole lot worse.

One Piece's time skip caused quite a stir when the Straw Hats returned with significantly lighter skin tones. While the change was less noticeable with characters like Luffy and Zoro, it was impossible to ignore the blatant whitewashing of Usopp and Robin's character designs.

Usopp's skin tone, in particular, has grown into a huge point of contention over the years, and the controversy just got a lot worse with One Piece's newest look at the Elbaph Arc .
