BATON ROUGE — Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry may have provided a peek inside the initial steps in LSU's search for its next head football coach .

LSU fired former head coach Brian Kelly on Sunday night, just 24 hours after the Tigers were humiliated on their own field by Texas A&M inside Tiger Stadium. While the school announced that buyout terms are being negotiated between Kelly and LSU, as it stands, Kelly is owed more than $54 million in buyout money to walk away.
