SUNSET PARK — Luigi Mangione, 27, charged in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, has reportedly earned the reputation of “the ambassador” among inmates at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Sunset Park. Attorney Arthur Aidala, who has represented high-profile clients like Harvey Weinstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, told People magazine that Mangione is a “model prisoner” who helps newcomers adjust to jail life.

Aidala said Mangione is “very, very well liked” by both inmates and staff and has not faced disciplinary issues. Mangione remains in federal custody, awaiting trial on state and federal charges.
