GMC Srinagar examining to introduce facility at SSH Shireen Bagh

The Health and Medical Education Department on Wednesday informed the Legislative Assembly’s autumn session that robotic surgery will soon become a reality in Jammu and Kashmir hospitals. Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu has initiated a procurement process worth ₹35 crore for the equipment.

This was revealed in the Assembly in response to a starred question by MLA Arvind Gupta regarding the government’s plans to introduce robotic surgery facilities in Jammu and Srinagar hospitals.

The department said that new medical equipment is introduced after evaluating its impact, financial feasibility , and space requirements. GMC Srinagar is currently reviewing the introduction of robotic surgery at the Governmen
