ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Missouri lawmakers Sen. Josh Hawley and Rep. Wesley Bell are pushing a similar message on SNAP as the federal shutdown continues.
Democratic Rep. Wesley Bell, who represents Missouri’s 1st Congressional District in the St. Louis area, said families and federal workers are already feeling the strain.
“I’m worried about a lot of regular working-class families who are already struggling to make ends meet. I’m worried about our federal workers, who are our regular working-class folks,” Bell said in an interview.
Bell emphasized how thin SNAP budgets are for many households.
