EAGAN, Minn. — Carson Wentz's time as the Minnesota Vikings' starting quarterback this season has come to an end, but before having the season-ending surgery to repair his left shoulder, there's more on his mind.
"Any minute or day, I'm about to have my fourth little girl," Wentz said while addressing the media Wednesday for the first time since being placed on injured reserve .
Wentz said the surgery to repair the torn labrum is "on deck," adding that he's disappointed that his season had to come to an end so early in the year.
The 32-year-old quarterback joined the team just before the start of the regular season, and took over in Week 3 when starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy went suffered a high ankle sprain. He won his debut against the Cincinnati Bengals before heading overseas
