LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - On Wednesday, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel spoke about the federal lawsuit she joined earlier this week against the Trump administration.
Nessel announced Tuesday she’s joining a coalition of 22 other Attorneys General and three governors, “against the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and its Secretary Brooke Rollins for unlawfully suspending the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).”
The lawsuit was filed in district court in Massachusets, where a hearing will be held Thursday morning.
It comes as distribution of SNAP benefits are set to be paused at the end of the month, due to the ongoing federal government shutdown.
