KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Cuba early Wednesday morning. It delivered a surge of high water along the southern coast of Eastern Cuba.

The storm first made landfall yesterday on Jamaica as a Category 5 storm. Now the dangerous storm is headed to the Bahamas and Bermuda. In Jamaica, leaders recommended that residents and tourists evacuate, but some had no choice but to ride out the storm.
