BOISE, Idaho — Dog lovers and dogs across the Treasure Valley can rejoice. November marks the beginning of off-leash season at select parks across the City of Trees.

Both Ann Morrison Park and Optimist Youth Sports Complex will open on Saturday, Nov. 1, for four-legged friends to explore. The Simplot Sports Complex will open on Sunday, November 16.

Dogs will be allowed off-leash at all three parks through Feb. 28, 2026. The City of Boise has designated restricted areas, including the Boise River Greenbelt paths, parking lots, roads, and playgrounds.

Together, Treasure Valley Dog Island at Ann Morrison Park is open year-round. As winter approaches, Boise Parks and Recreation warns patrons and their pets to exercise caution around pond banks and avoid ice.
