SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office said in a letter to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division that former Spartanburg County sheriff Chuck Wright will not face state charges following his federal indictment.

Wright previously appeared in federal court for an arraignment hearing on Monday. He is accused of wire fraud conspiracy, obtaining controlled substances by misrepresentation, and conspiracy to commit theft concerning programs receiving federal funds.

He has entered an intent to plead guilty to all three federal charges named in the court documents.
