A large portion of the city of Bellevue was placed under a boil water advisory following a mishap that punctured a water line near Main and Chestnut streets on Tuesday afternoon.
“The advisory notifies water system users that the water may be contaminated with potentially harmful bacteria and to boil the water prior to use until further notice,” states the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality website.
As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, the advisory was in effect from Chestnut Street south to the Hunger Coalition—which is off Honeysuckle Street—including Riverside and Glen Aspen subdivisions.
“Repairs have been completed, and crews have flushed the lines in the affected areas," the city stated on its website. "Per DEQ regulations we are required to issue a boil advisory for the affected areas.
