ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The relief effort is underway for victims of Hurricane Melissa.
Workers prepared 15 pallets of medical supplies inside a stone mountain warehouse belonging to the non-profit, Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC).
“We’re filling the specific medical supplies, and oxygen needs mostly for field hospitals that have been set up,” FODAC CEO Chris Brand said.
All the supplies will be shipped to some of the hardest hit areas in Jamaica in the coming days.
Ladaija Miles survived the Cat 5 hurricane in the Caribbean while on vacation in Montego Bay.
“All I did was cry, cry, cry, cry,” Miles said. “I was so scared because I thought that I was going to die.”
