Following tragedies such as the death of DOT worker Andrew DiDomenico and Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier, there has been a lot of emphasis on Connecticut’s Slow Down, Move Over law.

But according to a study from AAA, the message isn’t reaching all drivers.

The law dates to 2009, but was amended in 2017 to include all vehicles, not just first responders.

“It means you have to either slow down and move over and it all depends on traffic,” said Mike, from Wethersfield.

He was surprised to hear there was a study indicating people weren’t aware what the law entails, considering it has been on the books for over a decade.

“You have to be safe out there,” he said.
