BERLIN >> Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, said today that Russia had successfully tested a nuclear-powered drone considered a superweapon, days after he announced the trial of a nuclear-capable missile.
Poseidon, the unmanned underwater drone, is one of Russia’s latest nuclear-capable missile projects, unveiled by Putin in 2018 in a clear message of deterrence for the West.
Putin said the Poseidon test took place Tuesday.
“There is nothing like this in the world in terms of the speed and the depth of the movement of this unmanned vehicle — and it is unlikely there ever will be,” he said, adding that there were “no ways to intercept” it.
