FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. —

A man is accused of breaking into a home in Fayette County and beating a woman so violently, she appeared dead.

Pennsylvania State Police were called to a home on Water Street in Brownsville Borough for a disturbance around 2:48 a.m. on Wednesday.

Anthony Boyer is facing nearly 50 charges, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, arson and burglary.

According to authorities, Anthony Boyer had broken a first-floor window and forced his way inside of a home where Shannon Shields, a woman who had a protection order against him, was living.
