SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - College basketball season is almost here. Regular games tip off next week, and the Notre Dame women enter the year as one of the best teams in the country.

The Irish are ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press preseason poll and play their first exhibition game on Thursday night. Notre Dame will host Purdue Northwest, and it will be the first time that we will get to see this new-look Irish squad.

They only have two players back that played significant minutes last year. This, of course, includes preseason All-American Hannah Hidalgo, who was just ranked by ESPN as the third-best player in the country.

But the team will feature several transfers as most of their roster entered the transfer portal or went pro.
