WOBURN, Mass. —

A Stoneham man was arrested after allegedly using an explosive device to vandalize an ATM in Woburn , Massachusetts, last month.

Christopher James Silva, 43, is charged with one count of maliciously damaging property by means of an explosive.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Silva was caught on surveillance video at the Eastern Bank on Mishawum Road in Woburn on Sept. 4, wearing a blue balaclava, yellow glasses on his head, a black jumpsuit with orange markings, a black and grey-colored backpack, and dark-colored sneakers with red markings.

In the surveillance footage, Silva can allegedly be seen placing an object on the bottom of the ATM before running away.

The object begins smoking and several seconds later, it explodes, causing significant damage
