After a six-week-long trial, a King County jury on Tuesday found Jerome Frank Jones guilty of two counts of aggravated first-degree murder for the killings of a mother and her young son, delivering their verdict 31 years to the day after the victims’ bodies were found on a secluded, dead-end street in Renton.

The cold-case murder investigation into the Oct. 28, 1994, shooting deaths of Stacy Falcon-Dewey, 23, and Jacob Dewey, 3, slipped through the cracks and was ignored for years despite promising DNA evidence that first linked Jones to the slayings more than two decades ago.
