MASSACHUSETTS -- A man convicted in the shooting death of his parents and family friends in rural Bowdoin is dead.
According to the Maine Department of Corrections, 36-year-old Joseph Eaton passed away during the early morning hours of October 28th, while residing in a Massachusetts correctional facility under the interstate corrections compact.
His death is under investigation.
Eaton was serving a life sentence for murder.
On April 18th, 2023, Eaton killed his mother and father, two of their friends, and the family dog before opening fire on a busy interstate in Yarmouth, injuring three people.
