WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) -
West Monroe Police are looking for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run late Tuesday on Cypress Street near Jackson Street in West Monroe. They say around 11:30 pm, 41-year-old Jason Ellis of West Monroe was struck by a dark-colored sedan.
The car was traveling east on Cypress and did not stop. Authorities believe there is damage to the front driver’s side headlight and possibly along the driver’s side of the car.
After the first impact another driver who was traveling west also stuck Ellis. That driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Ellis died at the scene.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident or the suspect vehicle to call 318-396-2722 or Crime Stoppers at 318- 388-CASH (2274).
