The two suspects in a Uniontown capital murder case — make a first appearance in court Wednesday morning.

Martrell Carlisle and Jayelynn Cole are each charged with two counts of capital murder in the death of 21 year old Shermain Cain.

Cain was shot and killed about two weeks ago — near the Dollar General store on Highway 80 in Uniontown.

“The allegations are that they were travelling in an SUV and they fired shots into the vehicle that was occupied by Mr. Cain resulting in his death,” said District Attorney Robert Turner, Jr.

Carlisle and Cole were both appointed two lawyers. And the charges against them were read aloud in court.

Carlisle and Cole were apprehended in Huntsville — and brought back to Perry County to face the charges.
