Almost three weeks since the Gaza ceasefire came into effect, something of a deadly routine has developed.

Israel and Hamas accuse each other of breaching the truce. Israel launches strikes. Dozens of Palestinians are killed. The Trump administration insists the deal isn't about to collapse.

It's formulaic and is obviously a source of deep despair for the many innocent Palestinians who are paying the price for it as they're caught up in the onslaught.

But it also means the suggestion the ceasefire is holding is technically true — an assessment that seems ridiculous when you take into account that more than 100 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes in just over 12 hours.
