TRINITY COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Windy and dry conditions are causing fires to easily spread in Trinity County.
According to Sheriff Woody Wallace, Trinity County firefighters have battled at least six wildfires on Wednesday. Two are still actively being fought, he said in a post around 5:40 p.m.
One of the larger fires started Tuesday morning on 233 Gregory in Centerville. Several others are believed to have been caused by power lines being blown about by high winds.
In the area of FM 2262, he said that visibility is very low due to the smoke. First responders are out in the area, so he asked drivers to use extreme caution.
