A bus driver has been found guilty of causing the death of a young woman following a fatal crash in the heart of Brisbane after he mounted the footpath and crashed while trying to round a corner.

Lindsay Francis Selby did not answer questions from waiting media as he entered Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday to learn his fate over the fatal crash.

Police alleged Selby, 70, was behind the wheel of a Brisbane City Council bus when it mounted the footpath and crashed after he turned onto Edward St in Brisbane.

Ms Cameron, 18, died in the resulting collision.

Last month, Selby pleaded not guilty in Brisbane Magistrates Court to a single charge of driving without due care and attention causing Ms Cameron’s death.
