Having already won the Business NSW Outstanding Micro Business award, Walcha Coffee director Cameron Hayton said his jacket was off, just revelling in that success, when they were called as NSW Business of the Year.

"The business of the year wasn't even on our radar, it didn't even occur to us," Mr Hayton said, still reeling from the announcement in Sydney on October 29.

"The outstanding micro business was the category we were excited about, and we were honoured to win that."

"That was such a massive achievement, there were so many great businesses and great businesses we know the owners of, so to get that award was a huge honour for us, and just to be in Sydney with these guys in the room, it was very exciting to go to the gala dinner."
