Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball is starting over this season.

The core of the teams that won 50 games over the last two seasons and reached the Horizon League tournament final in March has departed. Of the Mastodons' 10 leading scorers from last season, nine are gone, including all five starters.

Coach Maria Marchesano reloaded with five transfers and four freshmen, a group of newcomers she hopes will be the foundation of the program's next Horizon League contender.

As important as those reinforcements are, however, the lynchpin of this year's team may be the lone returning major contributor from a season ago: Forward Jordan Reid, the conference's reigning Sixth Player of the Year.
