Former Maharashtra Minister Omprakash alias Bacchu Kadu led a tractor rally against the Maharashtra government, demanding immediate, unconditional loan waivers to debt-ridden farmers. The protesters were ordered by the Bombay High Court to vacate the Nagpur-Hyderabad National Highway (NH-44), as the blockade caused inconvenience to the public.

Kadu and his supporters gathered at a ground near Nagpur-Wardha Road after setting out on tractors from Amravati as part of the agitation. He said that farmers had been demanding a loan waiver for farmers, fair prices for crops and welfare measures for the disabled and fishermen for eight months.
