Yankees hitting coach James Rowson will be back next season after being a finalist for the Twins manager position.
The Twins filled their opening on Wednesday by hiring Pirates skipper Derek Shelton, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported.
Besides Rowson, Cubs bench coach Ryan Flaherty and former Mariners manager Scott Servais were in the running to succeed Rocco Baldelli in the Twins dugout.
Rowson, 49 has been the Yankees’ hitting coach since 2024. He was the Twins hitting coach from 2017-19 and also interviewed for their manager post in 2018.
