BANNOCK COUNTY, Idaho — A 75-year-old Spanish Fork, Utah, man escaped injury Tuesday afternoon after his RV caught fire and was destroyed on Interstate 15 near Downey.

According to the Idaho State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 1:49 p.m. when the yellow and red RV, traveling northbound near milepost 25, caught fire. The driver pulled the vehicle over to the right shoulder, and the RV was completely destroyed. No other occupants or injuries were reported.

The Idaho State Police is investigating the vehicle fire. Cleanup efforts blocked the roadway for approximately four hours. Assisting agencies included the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office, Downey Fire, and the Idaho Transportation Department.
