MADISON, Wis. -- Wednesday's game won't show up on the record, but it was just as important as any regular season contest.

It was the Garding Against Cancer game, a battle of brothers where Jeff Gard and the UW-Platteville Pioneers paid a visit to Greg Gard and the Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team. In the end, the older Gard won out with the Badgers prevailing 69-53.

For the second game in a row, Greg Gard left his starters on the court for almost the entire game. John Blackwell clocked 31 minutes, however he went 3-11 from the field and scored only 9 points. Nolan Winter put in a 17-point performance, shooting 8-11 from the field, while tallying 32 minutes of playtime.
