United States President Donald Trump said he has "great respect" for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and a trade deal between the US and India is going to happen soon.

Addressing the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in South Korea on Wednesday, October 29, Trump reiterated the claim that he played a role in ending the war between India and Pakistan and used trade as a measure to stop the conflict.

"If you look at India and Pakistan. So, I am doing a trade deal with India, and I have great respect and love for Prime Minister Modi. We have a great relationship," he said. "Likewise, the Prime Minister of Pakistan is a great guy and the Field Marshal (Asim Munir)... is a great guy too."
