YORK, Maine - There were just two instances when the Messalonskee High School volleyball team won three straight points in Wednesday's Class B semifinal game against York at Robert Butler Gymnasium.
The top-seeded Wildcats did so 10 times, and dominated their way to a three-set sweep over No. 5 Messalonskee, 3-0, advancing to its second straight Class B state championship game .
Individual game scores were 25-12, 25-16 and 25-11 as the Wildcats improved to 15-1 on the season.
"It's definitely very exciting now that we finally got back where we ended last year," senior Bella Parrotta said after the final point was earned to seal the game. "That's just been our goal, not even to win states, but just to make it back. So, winning today was very exciting."
