DUBOIS COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) -- The chair of the Dubois County Democrat Party says he's concerned with how much time Sheriff Tom Klein-Helter spends on the golf course.
The concerns come after a recent investigation into the sheriff's use of jail commissary funds in which no charges were filed. According to an open records request Sheriff Klein-Helter reserved 17 tee times at Buffalo Trace Golf Course in Jasper between May and September of 2025.
The records say that 12 of the reservations were during normal business hours and on weekdays which officials with the democratic party say is abnormal.
“If any one of us regular people would be going to golf 17 times while we have a job during working hours, we would be fired immediately," Dennis Tedrow said.
