LEXINGTON, Ky. —
Sacred Heart soccer is headed to the state championship after winning the semifinal in Lexington Wednesday night.
The Valkyries beat Lexington Catholic to advance.
It was scoreless in the second half when SHA's Samantha Miron drilled a free kick into the back of the net, making it 1-0.
Lexington Catholic would tie things up 1-1 with just over 10 minutes left, but Sacred Heart had answers. Mia Lancaster would beat the keeper and find the upper right corner for a 2-1 lead.
Sacred Heart would add one more goal, for a 3-1 win.
The Valkyries will play Highlands at 7 p.m. Saturday for the state championship.
