KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — One Knoxville SC is preparing to host the first-ever playoff game at Covenant Health Park after clinching the first professional trophy in team history.
One Knoxville topped the USL League One regular season standings last weekend to win the Players’ Shield and clinch homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. Knoxville will host eighth-seeded Charlotte Independence in a quarterfinal match on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m.
"It's going to be tight," head coach Ian Fuller said of the playoff opener. "There's a lot of parity in the league, which is a good thing. There's no easy games, but I think we're pretty confident at home. We haven't lost yet. As long as we do our job, we feel pretty confident."
