Lansing — A recent unanimous Michigan Court of Appeals ruling is expected to greatly increase reimbursements to home health care providers, perhaps retroactively, who have had their pay cut 45% under a 2019 reform to the state's no-fault auto insurance law.

The appellate panel ruled Oct. 20 that home health care is covered through Medicare. As a result, under a formula set out in the 2019 law, home health care providers are eligible for reimbursements equal to 200% of the Medicare rate for similar services.
